Growing up in North Idaho was a great place for someone like me who loved working with my hands and building. As a child if I heard a neighbor’s skill saw running I would be over in a flash to help. I never wanted to do anything but build. I often remember telling my mother, “I don’t want to go to school! I just want to work construction.”
Come 6th grade, shop class was offered and that’s where my skills began to grow and be utilized. I used my first bandsaw there and by age 11 I was hooked on building, creating, and designing.
My entire life has been oriented around the building trade. When I would deep dive into one aspect of the building craft I found it would lead me to the next. I was never fulfilled in only understanding one aspect of the work. This lead me to gaining proficiency in all aspects of construction. I employ traditional methods born from a passion for the high standards set by earlier generations of crafts people.
